"From time to time I make use of
sticks, found materials or driftwood within
my art, to create a rustic frame.

I bind them together and once
the central piece has been laced in place,
they become an integral part of the work.

This is often enlivened with paint,
metallics, earth pigment or all three.

The sticks I generally leave natural."
